Monitor thoughts or feelings?
The movie “the secret” and all the books on law of attraction tell us that negative thoughts will bring more negative things to our life. so many people feel it a must to monitor everyday thoughts, but I have to say that thoughts can not be monitored and should not be monitored.
Thoughts can not be monitored completely
For thoughts, what we can pay attention to is only a drop in the ocean. Every minute we all create too many thoughts, but we can only be aware of few part of it.
We have the limited capacity of dealing with thoughts which change frequently, so it is impossible to monitor thoughts completely. especially, if we monitor one, we perhaps lose the other more.
Thoughts should not be monitored
What we pay attention to will attract more of the same. The direct goal to monitor thoughts before is to make us stay in match with wealth, health and happiness, but since we can’t monitor all the thoughts, we then can not achieve this goal through monitoring thoughts.
But we can capture our feelings and deliberately change them. thoughts will create feelings and it is easier to grasp all the feelings on the NOW.
So change from monitoring thoughts to monitoring feelings. pay attention to your feelings, and if you feel happy, peaceful and other good feelings, be in them and appreciate them. but if you are feeling bad, try to find out what you do want from what you don’t like now or want to change now, and then focus on them.
Summary
I don’t mean that thoughts are of no use to our goals, and what I want to express here is we should take a better way to stay in harmony with our higher self, or wealth, health and happiness.

Feelings are the best guidance system that we have. We should be aware that we have the ability to control our thoughts but it’s the feelings that will ultimately determine what we are attracting.
Feelings give thoughts their potency, their life. And it’s our feelings which are our emotional guidance system. They tell us what we are attracting at that time.
When we feel good we are in alignment with our greater good. When we feel bad we are not in alignment and should do whatever is necessary to change our level of vibration so that we are in alignment with things that will bring us more happiness.
Listen to upbeat music, exercise, or spend time with family and friends to get yourself feeling good again. Once you’re feeling more joyous you will begin to attract more things that will make you joyous.
