8 Tips to save 10 more minutes daily for you
Many friends always complain that time flies too fast without noticed. In fact, there are always minutes or hours can be saved for us. But before introducing how to save time every day, we shall know one principle that is “every little make a nickel“. Here I will list some simple and effective tips on save 10 more minutes every day.
1 make plan
“Fail to plan is plan to fail”. To make a plan for a new day needs not much time, but it will save us more time (10? 20? or more minutes). Sometimes, you even only need to list 1 to 6 important things to do for a day, other things need no considering. In fact, much of our time is wasted on not knowing what the right thing is for next step.
2 Do some exercises
“Sharpening your axe will not delay your job of cutting wood“. We all know that best body state will bring high efficiency on work, but we tend to forget that exercises will make us come into better body state easily.
3. Create a non-distractions time
Every day, we are affected by many distractions from various sources: phone call, email, IM, visit, unexpected things and so on. We can say that we shall try to train ourselves immune to these distractions, but is it better to create a non-distractions time? Perhaps this time slot is short, for example only one hour. Close the door and phone get offline, etc. I always treasure this time slot and complete the most important things for me.
4. Try to be an early riser
“The early bird catches the worm“. Getting up early means we naturally have a non-distractions time. And at the same time, we have more time then people who get up late, that is to say, we will have more chances.
Many people like to work late to the night, of course, this is ok. But it is reported that keeping early hours is good to health.
5. Group similar tasks
Doing similar tasks back to back is a good idea to save time. It is always a time cost to shift from one task to another, especially when these two tasks have not many similarities.
6. Use a countdown timer
A countdown timer will remind us of time left. I always set 15 minutes as the interval for trifles and 40 more minutes a time for big and important things. Many of us always experience lapse in attention unconsciously, which can be easily eliminated by using countdown timer.
7 Make use of waiting time
We always have to wait for someone or something. The waiting time is also another source for saving time. If prepared well, we can enjoy a new story, a new song, call someone, read some emails or make some decisions and so on.
8. Take time journal
A good time journal is the start of good use of time. Many of us always spend too much time on web surfing, relaxing and so on. Through making time journal, we can find and remove some unnecessary tasks, reduce time spent on non-important things, compare when we can have better efficiency.

Time always flies without noticed. Successful people are not always those work longer than ordinary people, instead, they have clear goals and dedicated actions, that is to say, they know where they want to go and where they are going. Morning is the start of new day and infinite chances, so if we grasp the time from the beginning, we are in half the battle.
Listing or reviewing plans is a good action in the morning. With this action done, we have decided that we will try to put anything aside except the goal-related things. Little things done to waste time, we are certain to be higher efficient.
3 begin from the MIT(Most Important Things)
If there is still some time left for the morning, we can first begin from the MIT(most important things). We can pick out one MIT and begin working on it. It is possible that we can’t complete it in the morning zone, but it will help us building up confidence on completing MITs and managing time. The more important for us is that we are doing the right thing which directly leads to our success.
There is a saying said that a good start is the half of the success. Grasp the morning time tightly and create a perfect day with satisfying productivity.
